How to reach Tynset from abroad
You might already know, Tynset is not a big city, but a small town with most facilities for sports and daily life. It is the center of commercial in Østerdalen.
Coming from abroad, Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) is Our main airport located north of Oslo and connected with trains. Train connection is via Hamar, change to "Rørosbanen" to Tynset. Use www.vy.no to find connecting train. There are six daily train connections, the first one leaving from the airport at 09:59 to the latest 18:59. Approx. 4 hours travel time. Trondheim airport TRD is a second option. First You have to get to Trondheim city terminal by using a bus or a train. There are two direct train connections to Tynset at 9.33 and 13.30 from Trondheim C terminal and a bus connection in the evening. Car rental Trondheim airport (TRD) – 197 km toll roads.
Røros airport (RRS), is connected to Gardermoen (OSL) by Widerøe – www.wideroe.no. They have two flights Friday 4. zero Saturday and two flights on Sunday 6. August. Trains connecting Tynset are 14:18 – 14:56 or 16:19 -16:57. or Monday morning 06:23 – 07:01 or 08:21- 08:59. Taxi 56 km approx. NOK 2000.-
